As I’m sure you are aware organising a fund raising event is not always an easy task, however every time we felt like giving up the underlying reason for the event kept us going and now I can announce that all the hard work, fabulous donated items and of course the generousity of the attendees means last week we handed over a cheque for $8,750 to the Cameron Clow Trust!
This means 20-30 more children in the region will be able to be helped by the trust.
Once again a very heartfelt thanks to every single person who helped make this event a success!
In case you haven’t spotted them on Facebook yet – here are some photos of our event, taken by Brooke Lean.
Such a fab night!
Wow, what a fantastic evening. Fun, frivolity and, of course, fund raising.
Guests were treated to champagne cocktails, goodie bags, spot prizes and lots of entertainment.
Additionally there was the chance to win fabulous items for their wedding [or in some cases, just as a special treat].
Jordan McFadyen from ZM was an amazing emcee and kept the night light and entertaining. Speaking of entertaining, Graham Cochrane from Bayleys assisted by Neil Parkinson made it easy for our attendees to put their hands up and win their favourite items. We especially liked the “nothing’ item which went for $150 to the lovely Teiba Watts!
I want to personally thank Lee at Le Dejeuner for her amiable personality and wonderful philosophy and I highly recommend not only the Pukekura Raceway Conference Centre (especially the La Mer Lounge which is looking modern and spacious after a recent facelift – and there are a few more treatments due soon to finish off the make over) but also Le Dejeuner for the great canapes, service and hospitality.
Next I’d like to acknowledge each and every sponsor who donated a product, service or that most precious of things – time! Whether big or small each item helped make this event such a success.
Of course we could have donations up to our eyeballs but without our lovely guests who chose to attend and put their hands in their pockets to purchase those items we’d just be “all dressed and no where to go”. There were some highly sought after items and the bidding provided some great entertainment. We hope you enjoy the items you won and that they help make your wedding day a little more special.
Three very special people deserve my very heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all their help, encouragement, expertise and support - Belinda Morgan who is like a ray of sunlight and a voice of practicality (must be dealing with kids all day – just like the committee some days) and for delivering the best beer I ever tasted! – Jade Morgan who often compares himself to God – I must say I’m starting to believe the hype! – design | web | print | miracles – all in a days work – and of course Kate Morgan who is one of the bravest people I know, I thank you for your courage, support and allowing us to help keep Cam’s memory alive.
This event would not have been possible without all of you!
When I started this journey it was about promoting my wedding and event company and through the months it’s turned out to be something much bigger and more important. It’s about remembering those who have gone before us, it’s about living life to the full, it’s about helping those less fortunate than us and that sometimes the smallest thing to you can mean the biggest thing to someone else.
So to conclude, and I quote Peter Marshall, “Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned.”
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Chardonnay, Savignon Blanc and Cabernet Merlot are such lovely words especially when you add Montana into the mix, which is why we are very happy to be able to offer these to you at our event.
We’ll let you choose which is your favourite!
Ladies and gentlemen we are very happy to let you know you will be able to partake in a glass or two of some fabulous Daniel Le Brun Methode Traditionnelle to get you into the mood at our cocktail function.
We’ll be using this as part of our signature cocktail which you will greeted with upon arrival.
